The 10 Best Free Library Story Times in Davis County
Every Davis County Library branch runs weekly storytime. Layton adds Spanish twice a month, Farmington has baby storytime and Kaysville an evening slot.
Every branch of the Davis County Library runs a free weekly storytime, so the real decision isn’t whether there’s one near you. It’s which slot matches your child’s age and your day. Most sessions are “all ages,” but a few branches run sessions built for a narrower band — babies, toddlers and preschoolers, or Spanish speakers — and those are worth driving a little farther for.

For babies: Farmington
The Farmington headquarters branch (133 S Main St) runs a baby storytime at 10:30 AM on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. It’s the only session in the county system aimed specifically at babies, so build it into the calendar rather than hoping to catch it.
For toddlers and preschoolers: Kaysville, Layton and Farmington
Three branches run a preschool/toddler storytime instead of an all-ages one, which means the pacing and the books are pitched at that age band:
- Kaysville (215 Fairfield Rd): Wednesdays, 10:30 AM
- Layton (155 N Wasatch Dr): Wednesdays, 10:30 AM
- Farmington: Thursdays, 10:30 AM
For Spanish: Layton
Layton runs a Spanish storytime at 10:30 AM on the first and third Thursdays, alongside its regular Thursday session. The library’s virtual branch also runs a Spanish storytime on third Thursdays. You register online to get the link.
For a working parent: Kaysville’s evening slot
Almost every session in the county runs in the morning or early afternoon. The exception is Kaysville, which adds an all-ages storytime at 6:30 PM on the first and third Mondays — the one realistic option if both parents work days.
The all-ages sessions, by branch
- Bountiful: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 AM. The branch is closed for renovation, so storytime meets at its temporary location, which the library calls the Twig.
- Centerville (45 S 400 W): Tuesdays, 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM
- Clearfield: Tuesdays at 1:30 PM, plus Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 AM
- Farmington: Tuesdays, 2 PM
- Kaysville: Tuesdays at 10:30 AM and Thursdays at noon
- Layton: Thursdays, 10:30 AM
- Syracuse (1875 S 2000 W): Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10:30 AM
- Virtual: Wednesdays, online, with registration for the link
How to choose
If your child is under one, plan around Farmington’s two baby Wednesdays. For a toddler, use one of the three preschool/toddler sessions and treat the all-ages ones as backups. If naps rule the morning, the early-afternoon sessions at Centerville, Clearfield and Farmington are the ones that fit. Schedules can change with the season, so check the library’s storytime page the week you go.
